Car Modifications

This is just a quick note... something I was wanting to share last week at small group, but I forgot. I'll put it on the blog instead.

So I was driving to Josh's house for bible study and I see this guy. He's trying to race me (I was driving the mustang at the time... which is funny to me) and he's driving a Daewoo... not just any Daewoo... a hatchback Daewoo... he's got some funny spinner wheel hubcaps from wal-mart, some random pinstripe-esque stickers down the side of his car, a fake hood scoop, and everything. I pull up next to him and take a look... and it's an older dude with an oxygen tank rigged into the car in place of the passenger seat... to that oxygen tank he's attached himself. He was wearing one of those nose-piece oxygen tube funky things. I'll bet that the little "race" where he backed off at 35mph was the biggest thrill of his week.

Old people are funny!

I stole these questions from the church "who we are" profiles page...

Name: Chad Davis
Title: Mr. Chad/Amazing
Home Town: Rialto (sad, I know...)
Family Info: I have a small family. Britt (my lil sis) and mom and dad. There's my older bro and sis, but I'm currently irritated with them for moving away so they don't desserve to be mentioned. LOL

How did you come to CBC? My older sis and her family were going to CBC, so I went one weekend to check it out. Mostly I was there to see Chris (my sister's husband) perform because I had heard of his guitar playing talents, but never experienced them... Well, immediately, I fell in love with the congregation. Now, I cannot possibly imagine life without my "churchies."

What is your role at CBC? I used to just attend... which was nice... Then I started volunteering with misc. stuff. Now I work with the kids in the sunday school dilly. Imagine that... me... working with kids? I know, it surprises me quite a bit. I still don't want any of my own yet, but I'm becoming quite fond of the kids at CBC.

What do you count as the greatest invention of the last 100 years? Why? Cell phones. I'm REALLY bad at keeping in touch with people, but with my cell phone, I can totally just call people at random... and it's been working out very well for me.

If you were a season, what season would you be? Why? Beach. Beach isn't an official season, but the way I see it, season is a description of weather... and the worst day of beach weather is always better than IE weather... and beach weather increases my happiness exponentially.

What is your favorite place on earth? Why? I have 2; both of which are beaches... #1 - Leo Carillo. That's my favorite beach in Malibu. I spent a great deal of time in my formative years there. As a result, I have MANY memories and emotions tied to that place. #2 - Costa Rica. In general, I don't think I've ever had such an amazing experience as my the missions trip I went on with CBC. The friendships that were formed, the jobs that we did... all of it... just takes my breath away.

What makes you laugh? A lot of things. Funny things make me laugh... Bon Qui Qui makes me laugh (youtube it, you'll laugh too)... I tend to laugh at sad things too, but I think it's cuz I wanna cry and just laugh it off instead. I'm a man... men don't cry...

What makes you cry? The movie, Charlie. OMG... If that movie doesn't make you bawl after the first 30 minutes, then you're not a good person and I can have nothing to do with you. I'm actually surprisingly emotional. I've been told that I'm "emotionally dead," but I beg to differ.

If you could be on any reality television show, which one would it be? Why? I would be on "The Chad Show: Loose, but Connected." It's not a real show, but some friends of mine have decided that I'm entertaining enough to have a show of my own.
